How many times should I face my fear? Social anxiety exposure therapy
How often do you need to repeat an exposure before you can move up to something more difficult? This is a question from from a YouTube viewer - thanks for posting. We can’t rush through an exposure hierarchy because you won’t give your brain a chance update and learn that it’s safe. But you do have to keep moving forward. To know when it’s time to escalate, you’ll need be aware of your anxiety score out 100 in the exposure - we call this your Subjective Units of Distress or SUDS.
